How Bitner Built Grew From Passion To A Community

Our Story

What started as a simple woodworking hobby has grown into a thriving YouTube channel and community. BitnerBuilt was created to share hands-on projects, honest tool reviews, and practical tips to help fellow woodworkers refine their craft.

Our channel started somewhat by happy accident. I had purchased a few tools on waysource.com. I hadn’t heard of the site and they were selling tools 60% off so I was concerned it was too good to be true so I purchased them with a credit card in case of fraud. Well they came the next day, new in box so I was very happy with my purchases. I filmed a review video in my shop for each tool and posted it to their site that night, saying also hey this company is legit. The next day the company’s owner emailed me saying he LOVED the videos and was wondering if he could hire me to make more, supplying me with the tools. Well I love free tools so I said yes and posted 10 videos. Well they took off and 3 days later I hit all the requirements for YouTube to monetize my channel and we were off to the races! (always a big thank you to waysource.com for helping me get this started!)

Now I do my best to put out a video a week (during oct-January its tough as I own a Christmas light company so I am working both during that time). Our topics are what I am interested in. I make my main income from several businesses I own, So while the YouTube channel definitely is a business, I treat it as my fun time. I only do topics for things I am interested in building for my home, business or fun tools that I think I would enjoy! At 60K subs we are still a small channel but crazy enough I get MANY sponsorship offers DAILY, I turn down 95% and only take on ones that have items I think would be interesting or helpful for my shops production.

I have been surprised from the beginning at all the kind and supportive comments in my videos, I really enjoy interacting with everyone and still try to respond to every single comment!
